Modern Recording Company Scores Distribution Deal with IODA

After an incredibly challenging experience with both domestic and international distributors, MRC has finally inked an all digital distribution deal with the Independent Online Distribution Alliance, or IODA.

IODA is essentially a mediator between independent artists and labels (such as MRC) and aggregates distribution amongst the plethora of online distribution venues such as Itunes, Napster, and Rhapsody to name a few.

The decision was made to go all digital after a complete and utter fallout with MRC's former distributor in the USA and our vinyl manufacturer in Canada. We at MRC still believe in the unsurpassed sound quality of vinyl, but we have decided from an economic survivability perspective that is simply unsustainable. Moreover, we would much rather continue to distribute quality music regardless of the medium used, versus not releasing music at all.
